Ipswich Northern Route - Have your say

Members of the public are invited to have their say on the potential options for the Ipswich Northern Route when the consultation officially begins on 5 July 2019.

The public are being asked to comment on three proposed routes for the new road to the north of Ipswich. The consultation is being jointly developed by Suffolk County Council, Ipswich Borough, East Suffolk and Babergh and Mid Suffolk councils. It is also supported by West Suffolk Council.

The consultation information and questionnaire will be available online and will run for ten weeks from Friday 5 July until Friday 13 September 2019. During this time eleven drop-in sessions will be held throughout July where members of the public can find out about the project and speak with the team. www.ipswichnorthernroute.org.uk

Greater Anglia to commence car park charges at the Station

As from the 1st July 2019 Great Anglia will charge for parking at the station.

New flag in Town Park

The Council flew a new flag on the Town Park flag pole on Friday as part of the Suffolk Day celebrations.  The flag welcomes visitors to Halesworth and celebrates our links with Eitorf and Bouchain.

People & Places Town Centre Survey

People & Places would like your views as somebody who uses Halesworth town centre; whether frequently or rarely. East Suffolk Council, Halesworth Town Council, Halesworth Business Connections, Halesworth Tourism Group and Halesworth Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group, are currently undertaking an evaluation of town centre vitality with the People & Places Partnership.  The aim is to try to understand and plan for the continued vitality of the town centre.  The Halesworth Town Centre Users Survey  is confidential and will take less than 5 minutes of your time.

Town Centre Survey

Town Centre Survey: In the next few months an important survey of Halesworth’s town centre will be undertaken by the Peoples and Places Partnership. The aim of the research is to help identify strategic priorities and initiatives for all the East Suffolk towns collectively or on an individual town basis. The research will be used to support East Suffolk Council’s strategic direction regarding town’s centres and will be used to influence decisions and interventions through the following services: Planning, Economic development and regeneration, Assets, Active communities and Housing. The team responsible for the research have met with members of the Town Council, Halesworth Business Connections, Halesworth Tourism Group and the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group. The Town Council will consider the suggested methodology for conducting the research at the next monthly meeting on 3rd June.

Halesworth in Bloom Competition

Halesworth in Bloom is once again on the look out for beautiful front gardens to celebrate at their awards ceremony later this year, but this year they are seeking your help so that they do not miss any hidden gems. If you spot a garden which catches your eye, or you are particularly proud of your own plot this year, please fill in a voting form. You may nominate as many gardens as you like, and all entries will be viewed and considered by an expert panel of judges, with one being awarded the accolade of Front Garden of the Year 2019! Voting forms can be obtained from the Library or in the Community News, so keep your eyes open and get voting for your favourites.

Town Sign Refurbishment

The Town Sign has been collected by the original craftsman for refurbishment. It will be restored and returned to its home on Angel Link.
